Class Calm

In my district in Florida, the first day back for students is August 12. In the interest of timing my upcoming blog posts, I was researching school starting dates all over the United States. I discovered that start dates for public K-12 schools can vary quite a bit depending on the state and region of the country. Perhaps more interestingly, the start dates are not as tied in to our agrarian past as I would have guessed. There are a few other factors that drive the calendar as well.
